Beginning in the second week of school, 4th graders began learning about complementary colors, including seeing firsthand how their eyes are "wired" to make the complementary color pairs (ask them about staring at color circles!). They then worked on these simple Op Art pieces using a color pair, while also getting some practice using a ruler to make straight lines and employing curved lines and a little shadow to enhance the 3D feeling of the hand on their paper.
